Greetings from Barcelona!
Mercat de Sant Josep/ La Boqueria
La Rambla de Sant Josep
Barcelona, España.
Probably Barcelona’s best-known market, ideally situated on La Rambla this market dates back to 1217. And I thought my 1809 house on the Pootatuck was old! More of an open-air center for trade the market was not officially designated until 1826 and a convention held in 1835 supported the building of a permanent structure. It is a must-see for anyone visiting Barcelona. While you can’t take take most of what you might buy here home the legs of cured ham (Jamon Serano) pictured here are actually foam!
